President Andrew Jackson loved his farm and took pride in sharing it with the many dignitaries and guests that visited over the years. Jackson also enjoyed a good wedding and he went all out for them. His hospitality was legendary and it continues today.

Just 20 minutes from downtown Nashville and 15 minutes from the Nashville International Airport, The Hermitage offers a diverse selection of facilities with endless possibilities. From an elegant mansion to quaint cabins or formal gardens to expansive lawns, and even a historic church there is something for everyone at The Hermitage!

The prices are affordable so you can concentrate on spending your time and money on the event. Parking is free and standard security is provided.

The Hermitage Venues:

Tulip Grove Mansion

Completed in 1836, Tulip Grove was home to Andrew Jackson Donelson, Andrew Jackson’s private secretary during his presidency, and his wife Emily, Jackson’s niece and White House hostess. Tulip Grove with its Greek Revival facade and columns overlooks a beautiful view of the Hermitage mansion. A formal double parlor features majestic fireplaces with gold leaf mirrors. An elegant dining room, sitting room and study are centered around a three story elliptical staircase. The mansion accommodates 125 seated or 200 for stand-up receptions. The surrounding lawn and garden area with gazebo provide the option for outdoor or tented affairs that can accommodate larger numbers of guests.

The Cabin-by-the-Spring

Built in 1940, this rustic log cabin stands behind the Hermitage mansion. Shaded by 100 year old trees, the Cabin features stone fireplaces in each dining area. The main dining room seats 80 people or 125 for a stand-up event. A second dining room holds an additional 40 people seated and 75 standing. The two dining areas are separated by a covered breezeway ideal for socializing, buffets, and bars.

 

The covered veranda facing the woods and spring provides a relaxing atmosphere for all attendees. Total capacity is 120 seated and 200 standing. The Cabin has a catering kitchen.

The Hermitage Church

Completed in 1824 on land donated by Andrew Jackson, the Hermitage Church served the community and members of the Jackson family for many decades. Jackson and his wife Rachel were both members of the church congregation and attended services regularly. Surrounded by tall trees, many of which date to Jackson’s time, and formal lawns, this simple brick church is available for weddings and other events. The church capacity is 125 guests seated.

The Hermitage Garden

Rachel Jackson spent many hours enjoying her one acre formal garden next to the Hermitage mansion. This 19th century garden is filled with sweet perfumes of roses, honeysuckle, and other fragrant flowers, shrubs and herbs. The Hermitage garden is the perfect spot for a wedding. Evening functions held in the garden or combined with the back lawn of the Hermitage mansion, provide a memorable evening. Capacity is 100.

Hermitage Lawns and Fields

Andrew Jackson loved riding his favorite horse Sam Patch around his expansive property. You can stroll the same grounds as Jackson. Acres of groomed lawns or hundreds of acres of fields are available for a variety of events. Whether a tented or outdoor wedding, reception, family reunion, company picnic, or outdoor convention, The Hermitage grounds make the perfect setting for your event.

The Iron Gate Terrace

Plan your next employee appreciation dinner, awards banquet or networking event at The Iron Gate Terrace. Surrounded by flowers, umbrella tables and a hillside view of the Hermitage mansion, this attractive area offers a relaxed location for any event. Add music and lantern lighting to a buffet and bar in the breezeway and the opportunities are endless. Easy access parking and security are provided by The Hermitage. Capacity is 300 seated and 400 standing.

Fee: $1700 (after 5:00 pm only)

 

The Andrew Jackson Visitor Center

The Andrew Jackson Visitor Center is a user friendly facility that allows your company or organization to coordinate social events, multi-media presentations, lectures, product demonstrations, training sessions, and lunch meetings in a non-traditional setting. The Auditorium, Board Room, and Lobby, are ideal for receptions, off-site meetings, exhibits, and buffet events. Convenient, free parking and security are included.

Board Room:  The Board Room can accommodate 50 seated and 100 standing. A small kitchen is included.

Board Room Daytime fee: $350
Board Room Evening fee: $500

Auditorium: The Auditorium features a long projection screen and sound system for for presentations to groups of 140 or less.

Fee: $750 (After 5:00 pm only)

Lobby:  This beautiful glass enclosed lobby treats visitors to a glimpse of the Hermitage grounds and museum. The Lobby can seat 200 and 300 for stand up events.
